The names of the five film candidates vying for the 11th Nordic Council Film Prize will be announced on Wednesday September 3rd, 2014.

The most high profile film award in the Nordic region is administered by Nordisk Film & TV Fond. The five nominated films are selected by national juries in each Nordic country and this year’s national jury members comprise Eva Novrup Redvall, Jacob Wendt Jensen and Per Juul Carlsen for Denmark, Outi Heiskanen, Harri Römpötti and Jaana Puskala for Finland, Björn Ægir Nordfjord, Audur Ava Ólafsdóttir and Kristín Jóhannesdóttir for Iceland, Britt Sørensen, Kalle Løchen and Silje Riise Næss for Norway and Kristina Börjeson, Jon Asp and Jannike Åhlund for Sweden.

The Nordic jury 2014 that will select the winning film consists of Per Juul Carlsen (Denmark), Jaana Puskala (Finland), Kristín Jóhannesdóttir (Iceland), Silje Riise Næss (Norway) and Jannike Åhlund (Sweden).

The winner of the Nordic Council Film Prize 2014 will be announced during the Session of the Nordic Council in Stockholm on October 29, along with the winners of the Nordic Council Literature Prize, the Nordic Council Children and Young People’s Literature Prize, the Nordic Council Music Prize and the Nordic Council Nature and Environment Prize.

The coveted Nordic Council Film Prize was handed out last year to the Danish film The Hunt and the DKK 350,000 cash prize was shared between director Thomas Vinterberg, his co-writer Tobias Lindholm, producers Sisse Graum Jørgensen and Morten Kaufmann.
