As part of its new set of distribution support initiatives, Nordisk Film & TV Fond is going to attend cinema conventions in Malmö, Joensuu, Oslo and Copenhagen this autumn to promote Nordic films and to help exhibitors increase their awareness of non-national Nordic films.

The schedule for Nordisk Film & TV Fond’s Exhibitors Roadshow is the following:

- August 27 Joensuu, Finnish cinema convention organized by Filmikamari

At each Nordic cinema convention Nordisk Film & TV Fond’s CEO Petri Kemppinen (pictured)and Project Coordinator Cecilie Aspenes will explain to participants the Fund’s latest distribution initiatives and introduce a show- reel of recent and upcoming high profile Nordic films.

Petri Kemppinen says: “Part of the Fund’s mandate is to increase Nordic industry people’s general knowledge of Nordic films from the neighboring countries. Exhibitors are best at knowing their local cinema audience. Therefore we feel it is important to offer them sneak previews of some of the most exciting new Nordic films”.

Film & Kino’s Film Advisor Håkon Skogrand says: “Our organization puts great value in Nordisk Film & TV Fond’s efforts to improve the distribution of Nordic films in the Nordic region. We are expecting well over a hundred Norwegian cinema programmers and forty distribution representatives at Film & Kino’s Film Meeting in Oslo and I know that Nordisk Film & TV Fond’s presentation will be received with great interest”.

Tarja Piiroinen from Savon Kinot Oy, hosting the Joensuu event also says: “We are very pleased that Nordisk Film & TV Fond will take part in our convention for Finnish cinema exhibitors, distributors and producers. This will be the first time for the Fund and we hope our cooperation will continue. Nordic films and the support they can get to improve their screen visibility are very important for everyone in the Finnish cinema business”.
